Your clients are on these medications. Are you prepared to coach them?
Millions of people are now using semaglutide, tirzepatide, and other GLP-1 receptor agonists for weight management. Many of them have health coaches. Most of those coaches have received zero training on how to support clients through medication-assisted weight loss.
This course fills that gap. It's not about prescribing or recommending medications — that's outside your scope. It's about understanding what your clients are experiencing and knowing how to coach them effectively through it.
My client is on Ozempic and I don't know how to adjust our sessions.
They're experiencing side effects and I don't know what's normal.
I'm not sure what's within my scope of practice.
I want to be helpful without overstepping into medical advice.
By the end of this course, you'll have:
A solid understanding of GLP-1 medications
Learn how GLP-1 receptor agonists work, their safety profiles, common side effects, and what your clients are experiencing — explained for coaches, not clinicians.
Clear scope of practice boundaries
Understand exactly where coaching ends and medical advice begins. Learn how to support clients confidently without overstepping your professional boundaries.
Evidence-based lifestyle coaching strategies
Learn specific nutrition, exercise, and behaviour change approaches that complement GLP-1 therapy — including navigating sensory shifts, plateaus, and the transition off medication.
Skills for sensitive conversations
Develop language and coaching approaches for discussing weight stigma, medication shame, body image, and the complex emotions your clients may be experiencing.
What's inside the course
This is our most comprehensive course — four videos, three case studies, and a full library of supporting resources. It's designed to give you the knowledge, coaching skills, and ethical grounding to confidently support clients using GLP-1 medications.
Understand GLP-1 Medications
This video covers what health coaches need to know about GLP-1 receptor agonists: how they work, the common medications your clients are using (semaglutide, tirzepatide, liraglutide), what your clients are experiencing physically and emotionally, and what the research shows about efficacy and outcomes. Explained for coaches, not clinicians.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need any medical background?
No. This course is designed for health coaches and wellness professionals, not clinicians. Every medical concept is explained in plain language and framed around what you need to know for coaching, not clinical practice.
Will this course tell me to recommend GLP-1 medications?
No. Recommending medication is outside your scope of practice as a health coach. This course teaches you how to support clients who are already on these medications (or considering them) — not how to prescribe or recommend them.
How much time does the full course take?
The core video content is about 80 minutes. The three case studies expect to take 30mins - 1 hour. With the optional readings, 1.5 to 3 hours total.
Why is this a Specialty Course and not part of the MHC series?
The Master Health Communication series focuses on coaching communication skills (reframing, mindsets, diagnostic frameworks). This course is about clinical content knowledge — understanding a specific category of medications and how to coach around them. Different category, equally important.
